Putin
International News: Russian President Vladimir Putin met US President Donald Trump in Alaska on August 15. The two met very warmly, pictures and videos of which are going viral on social media. It was said that the Ukraine issue would also be discussed during their meeting, but in the meantime a different matter has taken hold. A very ridiculous conspiracy theory is going viral on social media, in which it is claimed that not Putin himself but his lookalike met Trump.
The claim states that the Russian president did not meet the US president in person but sent a body double to Alaska. To support this theory, it is said that the real Putin's face and demeanor are slightly different from the Putin who met Trump. Some social media users have claimed that the cheekbones of 'Putin,' who landed in Alaska, were fuller, while some others got suspicious when the Russian president appeared happier than usual during his meeting with Trump.
Some people took this conspiracy claim even further and alleged that there are many Putin impersonators who make public appearances in his place from time to time. One user claimed, "This is not the real Putin. They didn't send the good Putin; they sent the happy Putin. The useless Putin, who usually only makes small public appearances and who went to North Korea to meet Kim. Look at his receding hairline and the hair on his cheeks."
Similarly, another user wrote on social media, 'I think this is Putin's body double number 5. Doesn't look like Putin at all. His cheeks are round,' while another claimed, 'His cheeks are too fat, and he smiles too much. It seems he is trying to stop his laughter all the time'.
